Neck tension is rarely just about the neck. The way your eyes move, how you use your jaw and tongue, the position of your rib cage, and the support of your shoulders and upper spine can all influence how freely your head moves.
In this 90-minute workshop, we’ll explore cervical mobility, forward-head posture, suboccipital tension, jaw and tongue mobility, eye movement, breathing, and the relationship between the neck and upper thoracic spine. We’ll also use Joseph Pilates’ Neck Stretcher, along with the Cadillac Trapeze Table and other supported exercises, to help you experience movement with less effort and more control.
Rather than simply stretching tight muscles, the focus is on understanding what may be contributing to tension and creating better coordination between the head, neck, shoulders, rib cage, and spine.
No previous Pilates experience is required.
